Barry Dickins suffered from severe depression after separating from his wife and his new book, “Unparalleled Sorrow” was written after seven months of medical treatment, including shock therapy.
The writing of the book has been more effective than medical treatment for Barry and is an enthralling read for us, written as it is with his usual wit and humour.

Doncaster Writers' Circle presents an evening with award winning local author Elizabeth Jane. Hilary Clinton said: 'It takes a village to raise a child.' Local author, Elizabeth Jane says: ‘It takes a community to write a story’. Re-writing is part of writing. A story rarely comes out fully formed.
Come along to Doncaster library to hear Elizabeth Jane talk about the development of her prize winning short story ‘Beyond the Blackout Curtain’, and how workshopping with other writers played an integral part in the process.
